Come & hear the #risen Jesus (#relentless)

Come and hear the living Jesus
Calling out to one and all.
Come and hear the risen Jesus,
Let Him be your all in all.
Can you hear His call?
Can you hear His call?
Christ is with His ekklesia
When we gather in His name;
His living presence changes us.
We will never be the same.
We unleash the Holy Spirit.
We loose Him and let Him go.
We unleash the Holy Spirit
And surrender to His flow.
Shall we be relentless in the pursuit of the present risenness of Christ? Why not?
“For me the most radical demand of Christian faith lies in summoning the courage to say yes to the present risenness of Jesus Christ.” –Brennan Manning
–Ekklesia says yes to (and relentlessly pursues) “the present risenness of Jesus” by moving beyond a program and allowing the living, present Jesus to personally lead and direct the meeting when we gather in His name.
* Goal of church: The performance of a “perfect” program.
* Goal of ekklesia: Surrendering to Christ’s pervasive presence.
Church meets so that people can hear one man give a talk about God.
–Ekklesia meets to allow everyday people to hear God directly talk to them as individuals, and then to openly share what God has told them.
“The trouble is that our ‘hunger’ for God is frequently more a passing whim than a sustained longing. But still we find only what we seek; for spiritual discoveries can never exceed spiritual desire.” –General Frederick Coutts (The Salvation Army)
–Church can get by on passing whims:
However, ekklesia requires sustained spiritual desire!
Two ways to learn more about ekklesia: 1) Get my book Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible–Ekklesia available on Amazon at this link; or 2) Visit The Salvation Army Berry Street on Sunday mornings at 10:45, 225 Berry St, Nashville, TN 37207 where everyday people show and tell what God has done.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
