Hear ye! Hear ye! — A God Experiment (Based on 1 Samuel 3)

Hear ye! Hear ye! — A God Experiment (Based on 1 Samuel 3)

1) Tell God: “Speak Lord, for I am listening.”
2) Be still and quiet for at least 1 minute, and notice the thoughts, images, and/or impressions that come to your mind.
3) Write down what you hear (and share it in “comments” if you want).

(After typing the above words, I did the experiment . . The first thing that came to my mind was: “Do you really want me to speak to you?” I said: “Yes, I really do.” Then these words came to my mind: “Steve, be hopeful, for the best is yet to come.”)

(During the night I was tormented and grieving over several sad things I am going through. After hearing those words, I was a bit skeptical, but I decided to share them with you. However, my computer got stuck and the cursor wouldn’t move for a while. So I randomly opened up a book and saw these words: “Despondency is not a word allowed in our vocabulary.”)

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!

Steve, you don’t know me, I’m involved with the SA in Lebanon, and they told me about your Sunday meetings. I came once while you were out of town, loved it. Keep pressing on, for He is with you.
