What is preaching? (Perhaps it’s not what we think?)

What is preaching?

The Greek word for “preach” (κηρύσσω–kérussó) means to “proclaim openly something which has been done.” Every Christ-follower has a testimony so when we gather for church or go about our daily life; we can all openly show and tell what God has done! Now that’s preaching (κηρύσσω)!

If everybody who has asked Jesus into their heart began to daily allow the living, resurrected Jesus to flow out of their heart, the world would be transformed!

When church permits people to publicly proclaim as they are prompted by the Spirit, the prophetic permeates the meeting!

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
