R U Disqualified?

disqualified

Why should the lack of the title “pastor” disqualify someone from speaking out in a church meeting?
(Perhaps church isn’t a gathering of people who are disqualified from speaking in the meeting and whose main function is just to listen every week to the one officially “qualified” person.)

You are qualified to listen to the living God and to share what He tells you to.  You bet you are! Let’s practice with: Listen & Tell Time
A) Listen to God for a little while.
B) Then tell what He tells you by writing a comment on this post.
Ready? Go!

(I’ll go first:   I said to God: “What do you want to say to me?”
–This is what came to my mind: “I want to speak to people much more than they want to hear Me.”)

Our goal at The Salvation Army Berry Street is to qualify everybody to speak in the meeting by facilitating an environment where anybody feels free to speak as the Holy Spirit prompts her/him!
–“When God touches the soul with truth, light floods the soul, and that man knows more than anyone could ever teach him.” –Meister Eckhart

So, what’s better than listening to preaching?
–Sensing the presence of the living, resurrected Jesus Christ, hearing Him speak in your own heart, and sharing what you hear with others!

Come and see for yourself — every Sunday morning @ 10:45 — 225 Berry St., Nashville, Tennessee 37207.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
