Church in spiritual overdrive . . .

Spirit-driven church?  Do we need spiritual overdrive in church?

In a culture that is fast fleeing from faith and filled with Dones and Nones, perhaps it is time for church to change gears, override personality-focused human agendas, and shift into Spirit-drive. Romans eight-fourteen.

Spiritual overdrive releases sudden gusts of God’s power and Presence.  A church meeting is smoothly moving along and following a nice program, when suddenly, God interrupts and launches us into a fresh realm of the Spirit.

Spiritual overdrive overrides our cold, calculated & controlled conception of God and converts it into a hot heart-connection with God.

Spirit-drive careens past our caution and causes us to be courageous for God.

Spiritual overdrive shifts us from the humdrum of human effort into the joy of God’s fireworks!

Spiritual overdrive accelerates healing, peace, deliverance, and love.

Spirit-drive carries us along even when we feel like we can’t carry on!

O, how we need to let the Holy Spirit take the wheel and drive His church meetings!

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
