Why do churches ignore this Scripture?

Our intention at The Salvation Army Berry Street is to implement the Bible’s mostly ignored instructions, introduced in 1 Corinthians 14:26, that inform Christ-followers what to do “When you come together.” We believe that this inspired idea of participatory interaction is not included in the Bible just to be ignored, but to be implemented when we gather for worship as Christ’s ekklesia.

When you come together plain letters

Here are two simple ways that you can begin to obey this Scripture in your church:

  1. Start a weekly Jesus 12;
  2. Have a special  Jesus Demonstration Sunday.
  3. Check out my new book, Beyond Church — An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible — Ekklesia; available at Amazon.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
