Inciting hostility prepares the way for violence

Insight appreciates diversity. It doesn’t incite hate or violence. To incite hostility is to prepare the way for violence.

Bullying and negotiating are not the same thing. Bullying coerces. Negotiating collaborates.

Words motivate. They can be used to inspire kindness or to incite hate or violence — to connect or to disconnect. If hostile words captivate your mind, they will hold you hostage to anger and offense.

Self-focus suffocates joy. Kindness cultivates it.

When a society encourages hostility, hostility will frequently manifest in violence. It’s hard to be violent when you’re filled with love, joy, compassion, hope, mercy, and peace. Too many people are running on empty.

America’s racial wounds won’t be healed by stirring up racism or by throwing the word around. There is no logical reason to believe any skin color is inferior to or superior than any other. Search: Off the RACE Track book.

To dim your conscience is to disable God’s inner warning lights.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
