The Awareness That Declutters My Life

Bloganuary writing prompt
Where can you reduce clutter in your life?

To be aware that God knows me and knows all about me, yet still loves me, means that I no longer have any reason to clutter my life in an attempt to hide from and avoid Him like Adam and Eve did in the Garden. I can fully open my heart and continually surrender my life to Him and trust that Christ will live in me and change me from glory to glory as I let Him lead me moment-by-moment by His Spirit. I can have ongoing access to the gifts of the Spirit and daily demonstrate the presence of the risen Jesus so that other people can be dumbstruck and stand in awe of His demonstrated reality.

God has given supernatural spiritual gifts to the members of the body of Christ so they can flow with those gifts and demonstrate the presence, power, and compassion of the living Jesus to one another, to nonbelievers, and to the world. When individual Christians neglect, quench, or deny the gifts of the Spirit (because of unawareness, fear, or unbelief) we deny ourselves and others the amazing access to God and His abilities, that those gifts reveal. It’s vital that you let God’s Spirit declutter you from within so that He can freely release His spiritual gifts in and through you.

The Holy Spirit
Isn’t just for you.
He wants to live in you
So He can reach
Other people too.
Open your heart
So they can see
The light of Christ
Living in you.
Let His compassion
And spiritual gifts
Come flowing through
To make them aware
Of the glorious things
That only Jesus can do.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
