The Holy Spirit Is Not Theory Or Theology

The Person of the Holy Spirit does not present Himself as a theory or as a theology but as a flow in your heart. Speaking of the Spirit, Jesus said: “Out of your innermost being shall flow rivers of living water.”

When believers get together and allow the Holy Spirt to flow in their midst, spiritual life breaks forth, like the blooming of a desert. That’s why we are commanded in the New Testament to: “Quench not the Spirit.”

If we hold back the Spirit’s flow, we will never know, how much we can grow and how far we can go in God. It is so important that we go with the Holy Spirit’s flow.

“Quench not . . .” Don’t hold back . . . Don’t hinder the flow . . . Allow the Spirit to direct you . . . Do what the Spirit says . . . Let your church gathering be directed by the Spirit rather than by a program. Let the Spirit flow and spiritual life come forth. (This is called “organic church” nowadays.)

Experience the Holy Spirit’s flowing in a Sunday morning gathering at The Salvation Army Berry Street Worship Center. You will stand in awe at the Power and Presence of God. Sundays at 10:45, 225 Berry St./Nashville/37207.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
