Faster than a speeding worry; more powerful than an evil motive; able to leap tall obstacles in a single bound . . . Look in an uplifting book! Positive reading is super inspiration!
Some books contain ideas that connect, not just with the mind, but with the heart. They stir up hope. They create vision. They dazzle, like sunlight reflecting off a lake. Reading certain ideas is like touching a wire carrying electricity.
This may sound strange to some folks. Henry David Thoreau put it this way, I quote: “Most people have learned to read to serve as a paltry convenience, as they have learned to cipher to keep accounts and not be cheated in trade; but of reading as a noble, intellectual exercise, they know little or nothing.” (In other words; they have never learned to find and experience super inspiration through positive reading.)
Unfortunately, most of us were forced to read many books during our school years (or at least to pretend that we were reading them) that we found uninteresting and/or boring. This drudgery turned many people off to reading. I saw somewhere that many people never read another book after they finish their formal education.
So how powerful is super inspiration? When positive reading connects with the heart, life is transformed, healed, empowered, set free, enlightened, and turned into an amazing adventure.
Richard de Bury said: “A library of wisdom is more precious than all wealth and all things that are desirable cannot be compared to it.” When such wisdom is sought out and read from the heart, it ignites the human soul in a blaze of glory. That’s super inspiration!
Where should you go for super inspiration? Read history, American literature, English literature, great quotes and quotations, church history, self-help, and other inspiring subjects.
