If unaided, material evolution is true, then: Time plus a compacted blob of subatomic particles, produced everything — from human reason and consciousness to the most detailed and complex organisms on earth.
However, for me, evolution is an inadequate explanation of the intricacies of existence. In my observation and pondering, the profundity of the natural world enormously eclipses unaided evolution as its cause.
The glories of earth’s nightly light show are dwarfed by the wonder of the mind of the astronomer who observes it and applies mathematical formulas to determine speeds and courses. (As amazing as the cosmos is; human intelligence, consciousness, and comprehension are far more so.) Human minds trace back trajectories that appear to have originated from one time and place in space.
Thus many great minds conclude that all that is was once a compacted mass of subatomic particles that suddenly exploded without cause. Then those subatomic particles spontaneously formed themselves into the various atoms of the Periodic Table and eventually collected themselves into gasses and masses — massive collections of atoms splitting in continuous nuclear explosions creating stars and much smaller collections of various kinds of more stable atoms revolving around stars as planets.
It is supposed that on one small planet rotating around one of the smaller stars, an unknown chemical combination came together and somehow an atom came to life. It began to multiply and produce living cells. This unknown atom that animated and reproduced itself began a process that would be like a ball rolling down the hill of billions of years, throwing off all of the highly complex, interrelated life forms on earth as it bounced along.
It is claimed that even the mind that conceptionalizes these ideas is, itself, a product of time plus the exploded blob. Thus, according to these ideas, my writing is merely physiological processes in my brain directing my fingers to dance on a keyboard. And your reading is but more physiological processes in your brain. We are soulless, human information processors run by a program produced over billions of years by the big bang and its evolutionary process.
According to evolutionary ideas, the very human reasoning used to develop the concept of evolution is but a product of the purely material and mindless process that produced it. So how can a mere human information processor be trusted to be accurate?
Evolution is a very interesting concept, however, in my mind, it is not the solution to the question of existence. (I guess the process went wrong with me.)
Or perhaps my body is part of the world’s eco system, but my consciousness and reasoning are from out of this world and beyond the realm of the cosmos.
