7 Names For 7 Days Around Thanksgiving (& 2 Oxymorons)

I don’t know who started naming the days around Thanksgiving Day.  However, this new tradition doesn’t seem complete.  Friday, Saturday, and Monday have names, but Sunday has been left out.  Also, it seems to me like a week’s worth of days should be named (just to make it an even 7).

So here are the names of the 7 days around Thanksgiving:

*  Thanksgiving Eve Wednesday

*  Thanksgiving Thursday

Black Friday

*  Small Business Saturday

*  Reason-For-The-Season Sunday

*  Cyber Monday

*  Giving Tuesday

2 Oxymorons–Did you notice that the introduction to this blog post contains, not one, but two oxymorons?  Yep.

1) new tradition

2) an even 7

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
