What I Want On My Tombstone (Graveyard; Not Pizza)

Tombstone Pizza asks:  “What do you want on your Tombstone?”  I’ve never really thought much about what I want on my tombstone.

However, I recently lost my father-in-law and my parents and my mother-in-law are all very elderly, so I’ve had to think about death.  Also, I was recently stung by yellow jackets and had an allergic reaction.  I could have easily died.

Last night I woke up at 3:00 and was thinking about the tombstone question.  Here’s what I want on my tombstone (graveyard; not pizza):

In large letters taking up about 80% of the stone:

Celebrating with JESUS!”

In small letters at the bottom of the stone:

“Search ‘Steve Simms Nashville’ to read my blog.  1951 – 2041”

(I want to live to 2040 so I can celebrate my 50th wedding anniversary and a little after that so I can enjoy it.)

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
