Moving Beyond Accusations of “Hate” to Genuinely Getting Along . . .

If a friend, a relative, or even a stranger, in spite of anatomy, proclaimed his arms to be wings and boldly declared that he is a bird; I’d still be nice to him.  I wouldn’t be mean to him, and I sure wouldn’t “hate” him.

However, I wouldn’t agree with him.  Would you?

Perhaps our 21 Century culture needs to step back from some of the rhetoric of accusing each other of “hate” and recognize that disagreement does not define hatred.  In our contemporary society, we will always disagree with and maybe even disapprove of certain aspects of each others lifestyles, but we don’t have to be unkind to each other.  True love is greater than mere agreement.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
