Get On Board The Berry Street Railroad

San Francisco’s Berry Street Railroad:

I felt a prompting to google Berry Street (something I hadn’t done before) and discovered that there were plans for a “Berry Street Railroad” in San Francisco in 1877. The San Francisco Municipal Reports for the Fiscal Year 1877 said this about the Berry Street Railroad:

“Commencing at the intersection of Seventh Street with Berry Street . . . for transportation of passengers and freight.” However, I can’t find out if it was ever built.

Two days ago, I wrote the blog at this link, about a vision I had about a spiritual awakening coming through Nashville like a train and that one of the keys to this revival is Berry Street style participatory church. Berry Street Railroad was to begin at 7th Street. We are in our 7th year at Berry Street. Please pray that the spiritual Berry Street railroad will soon come steaming out of the station spreading spreading salvation and spiritual awakening!

Come visit us at The Salvation Army Berry Street, 225 Berry St., Nashville 37207 on Sunday mornings at 10:45.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
