What’s Wrong? (Winking At Sin)

Does anyone have the right to tell you you’re wrong? Or must the whole world wink when you do what you do? When everybody winks at wrong doing, soon nobody will know what is wrong.

It’s not wrong to point out wrong; it’s wrong to do wrong. Freedom of conscience is fundamental to human liberty. If we are not free to obey and to express our sense of right and wrong, then we are not free!

“If sin in your life or in your culture does not bother you, if you wink at sin, then you need to be restored to the place where it does bother you.”  –Barry H. Corey, President of Biola University and a Fulbright Scholar

“They were winking at sin — sin that should have grieved them deeply.” –David Wilkerson

“Cheap grace despises God’s authority to judge, winks at sin among God’s people, and offers false comfort to those living in sin, rather than summoning them to repentance.”  –Scott J. Hafemann

“Beware of winking at sin or thinking too lightly of it.”  –Charles Spurgeon

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
