Have We Put Christ In Jail?

christ in jail

Perhaps we have locked Christ up with our logic, with our logistics, and with our liturgies (both formal and informal) to the point that we have lost His direct leading both in church meetings and in our individual lives.

Have we gagged God? Do we gag God or go where God guides us?

Christ confined vs. Christ contagious? Do we keep Christ confined to our church program? Or do we let Christ be contagious in our cities and in our culture?

Are you Spirit-led or self-led? A Spirit-led lifestyle daily follows and obeys the promptings of the Holy Spirit; not the desires of the flesh.
(“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” –Paul of Tarsus)

God + ordinary people + permission to speak as prompted by the Spirit = an amazing spiritual experience!

–Something amazing happens when ordinary people gather together, quietly listen to the Holy Spirit, and then say and/or do whatever the Spirit tells them to.
-These Spirit-led God-gatherings are absolutely incredible. If you have never experienced one, you should treat yourself to the experience.
–Nashville has a Spirit-led God-gathering that meets every Sunday morning at 10:45 at The Salvation Army, 225 Berry St., 37207. Come and watch God work through everyday people!

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
