“Men learn what they teach.” –Seneca (1st Century Roman philosopher).
–If you want to learn to be a strong, capable, faithful Christ-follower, you need to be in an environment where people are free to teach and interact with each other like the Bible says in Colossians 3:16: “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another.”
–When a worship meeting only allows one person to teach week after week, that person learns, but the rest just listen and far too often forget. For example, what were the main points of the last sermon you heard? Bet you forgot, didn’t you? But when you actively participate in the teaching, you remember.

The Bible teaches that Christ-followers are supposed to be led by the Spirit, not by a program, an agenda, or feelings. But are we?

“Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” –Romans 8:14. Thus, being “Spirit-led” is a characteristic of “the children of God.”
–However, almost no one in our society has been trained (or even allowed) to be led by the Spirit of God. (If they are, people call them “crazy.”) Instead we citizens of the 21st Century have been trained to be led either by our mind or by our feelings.
–Where can people learn to be “led by the Spirit of God”? Most religious meetings are highly programmed and don’t allow any opportunity for people to follow the prompting of the Spirit.
–So what would happen if Christ-followers gathered to listen to the Spirit and do what He tells them to? Amazing things!
