Does love win? Or does love sacrifice so others can win?
Love forgives. Do I?
Love’s honest. Am I?
Love serves. Do I?
Love’s pure. Am I?
Love denies self for others. Do I?
Love’s kind. Am I?
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” –The Love Chapter (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)
Love means to consistently demonstrate genuine care, concern, and compassion for others, whether they agree with you or not. No one is 100% loving. We all fall short. However, love is a high and noble calling and the world desperately needs people who will radically pursue love rather than self.
The Love Flag
The Salvation Army Flag is about the love of God. The red represents the blood of Jesus that demonstrated His great love for mankind making His salvation, forgiveness, and deliverance available to all who will surrender to Him. The yellow stands for the fire of the Holy Spirit that releases Jesus’s presence and power into the lives of ordinary Christ-followers enabling them to love others with His supernatural love. The blue stands for a lifestyle of purity in thoughts, words, and actions. The words “Blood & Fire” are written inside the yellow star.
