What if “wait upon the Lord”
Literally means to set aside
Our church programs, plans, and agendas,
And for all present to wait and listen
Until the living God, Himself,
Tells someone to say or do something?
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” –Isaiah 40:31
Then the strength of God’s people,
Gathered as His ekklesia,
Will rise in our midst
And we shall soar
In the wind of the Spirit.
Rising above human effort and control,
We shall make rapid spiritual progress,
Leaving behind our weariness.
We won’t give up or give out,
As we walk in the Spirit,
Obeying His promptings
Rather than our programs,
And the revival that we long for
Cry out for, pray for, and fast for,
Will break out in a flood of
God’s glory and power!
