A Christ Release Center (CRC) lets the living Jesus flow through many people, not just one person! It brings Christ out of concealment and into God’s community by allowing ordinary people to testify — to show and tell what God has done. Thus a Christ Release Center is a spiritual armory that trains everyday people in spiritual warfare through the hands on experience of giving and hearing testimonies.
Christ-followers are the most well armed people on earth because they’re packing Jesus. They carry the living, risen Christ in the holster of their heart. A Christ Release Center allows ordinary people to take out their spiritual weapon and openly testify to power and love of Jesus as they are prompted by the Holy Spirit. Their testimonies become contagious releasing the presence of Christ through anointed Scriptures, prayer request, gifts of the Spirit, short teaching, prayers, etc. into the meeting.
In the book, Release The Power Of Jesus, Bill Johnson says that testimony is “catalytic is its ability to bring about a change of atmosphere in the present, making room for a supernatural release.”
Donald G. Bloesch wrote in 1968: “The local church should ideally be a lighthouse in a dark world, but where this does not in fact take place, then new lighthouses should arise, perhaps apart from the organizational machinery of the church.”
A Christ Release Center is a “new lighthouse” that frees people “from the organizational machinery of the church” and allows them the freedom to openly testify as the Holy Spirit moves them. It is based on the Greek New Testament concept of “ekklesia” in 1 Corinthians 14:26 (learn more here).
In a Christ Release Center, testimonies are not random. They are prompted by the living, risen Jesus. He is the one who runs and controls the meeting (not a preacher).
So why won’t we let Jesus run the meeting when we gather in His name?
1) We don’t believe that He is really present with us;
2) We’re afraid of what He will do if we give the meeting to Him;
3) It’s easier to just let a preacher control the meeting;
4) We’ve never seen it done before;
5) We don’t want to change;
6) We’ve always had a man run things from the front of the room.
