Even if you’re right, it’s wrong to be rude

Many people use rudeness to try to cover up their weakness and insecurity. However, even if you’re right it’s wrong to be rude.

When Christ-followers gather and minister to one another as led by the Spirit, they learn Christ’s kindness and compassion. The fruit of the Spirit includes kindness. Spirit-led people overflow with it.

“Love is kind.” Where kindness is lacking there’s a scarcity of love!

“Be kind to one another.” –Ephesians 4:32. A whole lot of people are ignoring that Bible verse! However, for Christians kindness isn’t optional: “The Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone.” 2 Timothy 2:24.

Unkindness creates enemies. Kindness produces friends. Which do you prefer? People who get stuck in being rude, almost never experience the feeling of gratitude.

Don’t let other people’s unkindness make you unkind to yourself or to others! People who like to say unkind things also like to say, “I’m not being rude, I’m just . . .”

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
