I am what I AM says I am. (And so are you.)

I am not what others say I am.

I am not what I feel like I am.

I am not what I believe I am.

I am not what I accomplish or fail to accomplish.

I am not what I pretend to be.

I am what I AM says I am.  That’s what I am.

I need to know what I AM says that I am.  I learn this in two ways:  1) by listening to God speak to me in my heart and through my conscience.   He convicts me of my wrongful behaviors, thoughts, and emotions and calls me to turn away from them and to follow and obey Him.   He tells me who and what He has created me to be.

2) by reading the Bible with an open heart and mind, He will make its words come alive in me.  His words burning in my heart, will show me who I am.

I Am is the name of God.  “God said to Moses, ‘I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’” Exodus 3:14 NIV

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
