Type F Church or Type R Church?

Types Of Church Services (Type F Church & Type R Church)

Type F (Familiar) Church — The same man reports on his biblical studies each week, while the congregation listens in a formal setting.

Type R (Rare) Church — Various people share testimonies, words of encouragement, Scriptures, gifts of the Spirit, etc. each week as prompted by the Spirit.

Nashville, Tennessee has a Type R church.  It gathers on Sunday mornings at 10:45 at The Salvation Army, 225 Berry St., 37207.  Come and experience Type R church in action.

    Steve, your church isn’t the typical Salvation Army that i am familar with. Do you have various ranks of “service people” like private, corporal, etc.? Most organic churches would reject such titles and ranks.

    Yes, Thomas, Berry Street is quite different from the typical Salvation Army Corps (church). When my wife and I were invited to start Berry Street, we were given the liberty to be “non-traditional.” The Salvation Army has been very supportive and has given us the freedom to follow and obey the Spirit in meetings at Berry Street. We intentionally have no ranks in Berry Street (what The Salvation Army calls “local officers”) because we believer that everybody is equal before God and has an equal opportunity to share in the meeting as led by the Spirit.
