Participatory church presents God as a present reality as ordinary people are filled with wisdom, love, power, eloquence, faith, demonstrations of the Spirit, and the glory of God! It moves beyond God ideas to God demonstrations.
When hot coals are pulled together and connect with one another, flames break out!
When hot hearts have the freedom in a church service to share with one another the fire that they feel, spiritual flames break out!
It is such a blessing to see God release Holy Spirit sparks spreading from person to person, creating an atmosphere of awe and spiritual contagion. There’s nothing like it!
God cares enough to send the very best — spontaneous expressions of the Holy Spirit through everyday men and women.
When people gather around the living, resurrected Jesus Christ and ask Him to actively lead and direct their time together, absolutely incredible things begin to happen. You should try it sometime. Jesus actually takes the wheel!
My favorite thing to see in a church service: The power and presence of God breaking out through various people as they show and tell what God has done!
Open sharing, participatory church keeps people “interested, involved, and committed.” — “Almost all congregations are operating below their potential because they aren’t finding ways to invigorate and keep their own membership interested, involved and committed.” –Scott Thumma, co-author of the book: “The Other 80 Percent: Turning Your Church’s Spectators Into Active Participants.”
