“I must be about my Father’s business.” –Jesus

We’ve all been told to “Mind your own business,” but whose business should a church (or ministry) mind?  If a church (or ministry) is really dedicated to God, shouldn’t it operate according to His plan, His will, and His business rather than according to a mere person’s (or group’s) agenda?

When a church meets and Jesus is present in our midst, perhaps we should allow Him to personally lead and direct the meeting according to His Father’s business, rather than holding to and enforcing our own agendas and programs.

But how?  It is very easy.  In 1 Corinthians 14:26, the Bible shows us how to let God’s agenda come forth.  It says that when we meet together, everyone has something to share.  That takes the agenda out of the control of a pastor, priest, or preacher and puts it in Jesus’ hands.  Then, the everyday people present are free to share and to do whatever the Father tells them to.  The church becomes His business, rather than a man’s.
