Questioning The Golden Globe Awards

Why settle for simply seeing the Golden Globes when Christ wants to give you a glorious new heart of gold?

What good is the best dressed body, if your heart is a mess?

The 2014 Golden Globes even included hate speech from Jacqueline Bisset:  “The people who’ve given me &#@!, I say — like my mother — what did she say? She used to say, ‘Go to hell and don’t come back.’ However, however, however, my mother was not entirely me.”

Since Jacqueline Bisset brought up the subject of hell, you should know that no one needs to go to hell.  No matter how messed up our heart is, God can change our heart and save us from hell, if we surrender to the living, resurrected Jesus Christ and begin to daily follow and obey Him.

Although he claims to be an atheist, Ricky Gervais got it pretty close to right at the 2012 Golden Globes:  “You don’t need to thank everyone you’ve ever met or members of your family, who have done nothing.  Just the main two – your agent and God.”

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!

  1. Completely agree. As an aspiring actress/producer/writer I hope to change that. Only one person thanked God in their speech and oddly the place got really quiet. God is really the first person you should thank.

    Nice blog.

    God Bless. 🙂
