Have We Silenced God’s Lambs (Keeping Them Silent With Preaching)?

Have we silenced God’s lambs with a gag rule for church?  Perhaps.

I believe that many people have powerful messages from God burning in their heart, but they are too intimidated to share them because:

1) They are never given the opportunity to preach or teach..
2) They have been taught that they are unqualified because the only people they ever see preach are professional preachers.
3) They have been taught that it would be rebellious and/or presumtuous for them to preach or teach in a church.

Therefore many people with mighty words from God remain quiet and their message dies with them.  But not everywhere! At The Salvation Army Berry Street in Nashville, Tennessee, regular people are permitted to share, one after the other, what God has put on their heart and they do so powerfully! Come see:  Sundays @ 10:45, 225 Berry St., 37207.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
