A little past midnight, I received word that my mother had just left this life. She had been in the process of dying for about a week, so the news was expected. However, even though she was 85, the news is painful. I couldn’t get back to sleep, and it came to me to get up and “randomly” flip open the Bible.
The first thing I saw was: “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens; a time to be born and a time to die.”
I flipped it open again and saw Jesus’ words in Mark 14: “She has done a beautiful thing to Me . . . She did what she could.”
Both verses are very comforting to me right now. I thank God for His peace and His assurance that things are alright with my mother.

After writing this, I shut off my computer. Then I flipped open my Bible again. My finger was on the same story from Mark 14, but this time in Matthew 26. How is that possible, except for God directing my fingers?
