Why do we ask why?

Why do we ask why?

What’s the reason
That people reason?
If there’s no
Meaning or plan
Behind existence,
Then why do we ask why?
Why do our hearts cry
For purpose, understanding,
Relationship, and love?
Isn’t the search for meaning,
A meaningless meandering,
If meaning is merely mythical?
I found meaning in
Meeting the Messiah,
My Maker,
And experiencing Him daily,
And now I have
A reason for
Taking up space
On this planet.

More on the Messiah!

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!

I’m reminded of Steve Bell’s Why Do We Hunger for Beauty [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpnOmOyYxu0] and also reminded of CBC’s Ideas program, “Beauty with save the world.” [http://www.cbc.ca/player/Radio/Ideas/Full+Episodes/2010/ID/1525117349/]
