Church is no place for passivity! Biblically it’s a gathering for interactive, Christ-led involvement. (See 1 Corinthians 14:26 and http://amzn.to/2dvrvlz.)
Far too many people believe that occasionally attending a highly structured and tightly controlled church service is Christianity. However, the 50+ “one another” passages in the New Testament paint a different picture of what it means to be a Christ-follower — going beyond being a passive, silent member of an audience; to being an active, Spirit-led participant in the body of Christ. The song Come Alive (Dry Bones) puts it this way:
“We call out to dead hearts
Come alive, come alive
Up out of the ashes
Let us see an army rise
We call out to dry bones, come alive.”
–It’s time to go beyond passively sitting through a church program. We desperately need spiritual revolution — the life of Christ flowing freely among His people and personally directing each one of us when we gather in His name!
At The Salvation Army Berry Street ordinary people stand up and speak out as they feel led by the living, resurrected Jesus Christ. When they do, dry bones come alive. Come see: Sundays @ 10:45 am., 225 Berry St., Nashville, TN 37207.
