Which “town meeting” has the most influence over you?

Living in any city, culture, or country, surrounded by its social structures and values, only an ongoing inner renewing can prevent Christians from becoming subconsciously molded and conformed into its image. Those in Christ need to gather regularly apart from the world’s town meetings and the peer pressure that surrounds them. Instead, Christians need to continually gather as Jesus’ town meeting in order to practice the 50+ New Testament “one another” commands (according to the example of 1 Corinthians 14:26) in order to remind each other of and to experience together, our supernatural citizenship in the kingdom of God.

Jesus said: I will build my town meeting (ekklesia in Greek). Now He calls citizens of His kingdom to gather in His name to learn to be led by His Spirit as He facilitates His town meeting.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia."
