Let God Take Control

Here’s another way to say Jesus’ main message: God is present to take control. Let Him. (“Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand.”) Actively and daily surrender your will to His will.

Inner leadings, promptings, and nudges that align with Scripture are often the voice of God speaking directly to you. Notice them. They are very easy to overlook or ignore. If they are good, free from evil, and don’t contradict or misrepresent the Bible they are from God. Obey them even when you don’t want to and you will experience God doing astounding things both within you and through. Instead of resisting or quenching the Holy Spirit train yourself to be Spirit-led and let God take control.

Dissatisfaction that is unable to be satisfied with the status quo isn’t rebellion. It’s a calling to get to know the deeply satisfying reality of Christ in you, the hope of glory so that you can let God take control.

Too many Christians are satisfied with simply hearing a sermon at a Sunday service, but the Bible tells us to draw near to God, to seek first His kingdom, to hunger and thirst for His righteousness, and to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. I’ve always been dissatisfied with satisfied Christianity. I want to see Christians let God take control!

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
