Unconditional Will Wow You!

Unconditional will wow you!

Unconditional, a new movie staring Lynn Collins and Michael Ealy, is based on events in the life of Joe Bradford, affectionately known as Papa Joe by the people whose lives he has changed in the projects of Nashville, Tennessee.  It is a moving story, powerfully portrayed — one of the best movies I’ve ever seen.  It clearly demonstrates the power of active, heart-felt love to transform lives being devastated by neglect and hopelessness as well as to transcend racial and economic barriers.

Unconditional was especially touching for me because my wife and I have spent the past 4 1/2 years loving and relating to many people in an urban neighborhood in East Nashville.  We have seen first hand that loving, unconditional relationships have the power to change people’s lives.  However, there is a famine of such relationships in the inner city (and I think also, in the suburbs as well).

Go see this movie.  It may make your realize that you are missing something in your life — deep heart-felt love!  If you like what you see in Unconditional I invite you to come and experience this kind of love in person at The Salvation Army Berry Street.  It is located at 225 Berry St., Nashville, 37207.  Here you will see black people & white people, young & older people, middle-class & poor people loving one another — unconditionally.  Come visit us one Sunday morning at 10:45 and experience firsthand, God’s love.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
