Imagine If Church Had More And Less

What if would happen if church had . . .

More of the Spiritual Guide speaking inside of everybody present and less of the one man sage on the stage?  (1 John 2:27)

More prayer, less pride?  (2 Chronicles 7:14)

More God, less self-focus?  (Matthew 6:33)

More obedience, less resistance?  (John 14:15)

More brokenness, less keeping it together?  (Isaiah 6:5)

More confession of sin and repentance; less justification of our individual and societal moral failures?  (1 John 1:9)

More Spirit-fanning (everybody sharing prayers, testimonies, Scriptures, gifts of the Spirit, songs, and laying on of hands) and less lesson planning (one man sermonizing)?  (1 Corinthians 14:26)

Come and see for yourself at The Salvation Army Berry Street at 225 Berry Street in Nashville, Tennessee 37207 — Sundays at 9:30 am for a participatory Bible study and/or 10:45 am for a worship gathering based on open sharing and testimonies.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
