Copycating contemporary culture — shouldn’t we take a higher view than monkey see, monkey do? Rather than taking rides on society’s hot and trendy tides, shouldn’t Christ’s followers be on His side and go against the tide?
According to Jesus, His followers are to be “in the world, but not of the world.” To quote Paul of Tarsus: “”Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” They aren’t supposed to be compromised and sold-out to society’s values.
Believers are not called to copycat contemporary culture; believers are challenged to live a countercultural lifestyle. Will you?

About Steve Simms
I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I co-lead a non-traditional expression of the body of Christ in Nashville based on open participation and Spirit-led sharing. We long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia" that is available in Kindle & paperback @ http://amzn.to/2nCr5dP
AMEN!!!I sure will.
