Our dry souls need to be irrigated with much Living Water. An effective irrigation system has many waterspouts, not just one. God’s living water flows lavishly in church meetings when many people are free to share the living water that God has put in their heart. The Living Water is limited when only one special man is allowed to speak.
“No one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins.” -Jesus Christ
New wine is the Holy Spirit — the Living Water. Perhaps old wineskins are customary ways of doing church and new wineskins are fresh, creative ways of doing church.
Participatory, organic church, based on open sharing and testimonies, rather than on a one-man sermon, is an amazing new wineskin capable of holding much new wine!
