Warning: Life lies ahead. (Keep lies from tripping you up.)

If you follow
Your pride,
You’ll soon discover
That it has lied.

Self-denial isn’t a sacrifice. It’s the blissful vanishing of the chains of self. Living without repenting when you’re wrong is like living without bathing.

When undesirable thoughts assault your mind and unwelcome emotions invade your heart, resist them until you drive them out. When you’re inwardly a mess, you won’t find peace and rest, until you reset your thoughts and emotions. When our desires are allowed to dominate us, our awareness of God fades away.

The most wondrous thing on earth is a human life, regardless of the phase, location, or condition of that life. Your life matters. Handle it with care. Think outside the routine of everyday life.

Warning: Life lies ahead. Munching on misinformation can make your mind melt. Discernment is needed in order to avoid letting life’s lies trip you up. Christianity that ignores or diminishes the Bible will soon be distorted.

The Bible presents two lifestyle choices. We can be led by our desires or led by God’s Spirit. If you’re unwilling to give up your own will and desires, you won’t be able to follow God’s will.

When we fall short of doing what’s right, we need a Savior to forgive us and set us free. That’s why Jesus died and rose again. If we used our freedom to do as much good as possible, instead of to satisfy our own desires, the world would be a different place.

If you nurture and maintain an ongoing, inner connection with the risen Jesus, you’ll continually experience the fruit of His Spirit. If you find prayer boring, you need a prayer-freshener. Let communication with God flow from your heart and roll off your tongue.

It’s as easy to pray as it is to think. Simply direct your thoughts toward God. The more you think that you know, the less you’re open to God’s revelation.

It’s easy to praise
When you gaze
On God.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
