Thinking outside the box is a popular phrase. Taco Bell even played on it in their commercial by encouraging people to think outside the bun.
Creative, out of the box thinking, has brought tremendous advancements to society. However one group in society seems stuck in the box of routine and tradition — the Christian church. Perhaps it is time for the church to believe beyond the bounds of the familiar — to color outside the lines — to be visionary. God has some novel ideas!
Why not reinvent the Sunday morning church service (while still being faithful to biblical theology)? We believers could move beyond Sunday morning established procedures and do some Walt Disney style imagineering.
This is happening at The Salvation Army Berry Street in Nashville, Tennessee. We are believing beyond the box of routine religion and reinventing the Sunday morning church service. If you are in Nashville, come and see for yourself. Experience Spirit-led, nonconforming, open sharing and testimony, as everyday people eloquently show and tell what God has done — Sundays @ 10:45; 225 Berry St., 37207.
