I Still Read “The King’s Book” Everyday

Daily writing prompt
What’s the first book you ever finished and still remember to this day?

Once upon a time I began to read a book. That book came alive to me, and I couldn’t put it down. I devoured it and absorbed it every day. I still read it every day, but much more than that, I carry its words in my heart and treasure them throughout each day. (Joshua 1:8) They continually remind me of the presence of my King living inside of me. The Bible’s words keep me focused on the living Jesus Christ — King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Jesus isn’t about
Religiosity
Or mere theology.
He’s not mythology,
Or only history.
Let Him live in you
Victoriously
As the King of Kings!

A kingdom is the rule, the reign, the government of a king. The kingdom of God advances every time you deny yourself and humbly embraces crucifixion, (Mark 8:34) by surrendering your will and desires to the risen King Jesus. (Revelation 19:16) The more you notice and obey the inner promptings of The One Eternal King — Christ in you (Colossians 1:27) — the greater will be the manifestation of God’s government both within and through you.

Christians are supposed to focus on the risen King Jesus. We’re not supposed put our hopes in any mere human being.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
