“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
Paul, in the Bible, asks his fellow Christians, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Thefore honor God with your bodies.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) He states, “Those who are led by the Spirit are the children of God.” (Romans 8:14)
Christianity isn’t Bible knowledge or self-effort. It’s about surrendering to life-exchange. Christ gave His life for me so I could escape from my life of bondage and allow Him to freely live His life in and through me. Throughout each day I seek to “Prepare the way of the Lord,” and to “Make straight paths for Him,” (Matthew 3:3) so I can keep my old life from quenching His Spirit. (1 Thessalonians 5:19)
Like King David, I ask God to keep me in His will. “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thought. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139:23-24)
