Jesus doesn’t want His followers to monetize their faith the way prosperity preachers do. (Matthew 6:24) He wants them to let Him “discipletize” their faith. (Matthew 28:19-20)
Jesus wants His people to prioritize listening to (John 10:27) and obeying His inner promptings (John 14:15) throughout each day. He calls them to be actively and continually led by His Spirit. (Romans 8:14)
Are you willing to follow Christ’s call to full surrender and radical discipleship? (Luke 9:23) Straight is His gate and narrow His way, and few are willing to follow it. (Matthew 7:13-14) Will you?
To be merely be baptized in water without being baptized and discipletized by God’s living water–the Holy Spirit–freely flowing from within you like rivers of living water, is to miss the point of Christianity. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
The body of Christ doesn’t consist of multitudes of independent religious organizations, institutions, and churches. It consists of the worldwide followers of the risen Lord Jesus, connected heart-to-heart to Christ and to one another, who are being discipletized by living in faithful, moment-by-moment obedience to Him.
