Beyond “Churchianity” to the Love of Jesus

Daily writing prompt
What’s the best way to meet new people while traveling?

If you’re a genuine Christian, Jesus is closer to you than you can imagine. He lives inside you, even when you don’t perceive His presence. (1 John 4:4) Your body is His temple. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) Train yourself to be continually aware of, awake to, and attentive to “Christ in you.” (Colossians 1:27)

Don’t just ask Jesus for things. Seek to know Him better and better. Open your eyes and ears and begin to notice and respond to what He is doing and saying within and around you.

Allow Christ’s rivers of living water to flow from your innermost being. (John 67:38-39) Let Him lead you throughout each day by the inner promptings of His Spirit. (Romans 8:14)

Christians are supposed to so powerfully demonstrate Christ’s presence and love that people want to become Christians. (Matthew 5:16) Letting people see Christ living and producing the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) in and through you is how to show people the Savior!

Disagreeing with someone about morals isn’t judgment. It’s freedom of conscience. Demonstrating Christ’s love isn’t about approval. It’s about kindness, compassion, mercy, and forgiveness. Let Jesus train you to humbly speak the truth in love. (Ephesians 4:15)

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
