My God! I Want To See That Again! “Reborn To Be Wild”

When I went to my favorite Borders book store for their going out of business sale, God, as He often does, led me to a book that stirred my heart (Reborn To Be Wild).  I left the tracks of my tears through out the first chapter.

As Ed Underwood shared his experiences of meeting Jesus in the Jesus Movement, memories of my Jesus Movement encounters with Christ and His people rolled across my mind, and the tears rolled down.  My God!  I want to see that again!  Lord, move mightily among us one more time!  Wake us up, O God, to passionately pursue, love, and obey You!

My generation experienced a mighty move of God.  It was fresh.  It was alive.  It was powerful!  Even now I weep as I write about it.  How we need that again!

If you experienced the Jesus Movement, you need to stir up the gift that is within you.  Rekindle that fire!  Sell the farm and follow Jesus!

It’s time.  If not  now, when?  We can’t die and leave the generations following us without living witnesses to a spontaneous move of God.  That would be a tragedy.

Take us back, Dear Lord, to our first love for You!  Not programs, not structured meetings, not religion, not ritual, not form without power; but You, alive and moving in our hearts and in our midst!  Do it again, Lord!

God is assembling a group that is hungry for His leadership; that allows Him to directly lead their gatherings, rather than following a program or a human leader.  The results are amazing.  It’s the closest thing I’ve seen to the Jesus Movement in almost 40 years!

Come and see for yourself!  Sundays @ 10:45am, 225, The Salvation Army Berry Street, Nashville, 37207.  Get your fire reblazing for God’s glory!

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
