Christmas Chatter

Christmas chatter:

‘Tis the season to celebrate Jesus.  Happy Christ Day!  Merry Jesusmas!  “When Christ entered our world, He didn’t come to brighten our Decembers, but to transform our lives.” –Rich Miller

Have yourself a Holy Spirit Christmas.  What we talk about becomes more real and more important to us. What we keep silent about begins to diminish. Do you talk about your love for God? Christmas is a great time to talk about Jesus. After all, it is His birthday that has everyone worked up about the holidays. Jesus is so real and powerful. Like the old song says: “What a friend we have in Jesus.”

Testimonies take the reality of God’s love and power off the pages of the Bible and make God a part of everyday life. When was the last time you heard someone testify about what God is doing in his/her life? At The Salvation Army Berry Street Worship Center in Nashville, people openly and enthusiastically tell what God is doing, every Sunday morning.

“Christmas celebrates the awesome and amazing fact that God is grander,
wiser and more mysterious than we could have ever imagined.” –Dan Schaeffer  Christ*mas is a great time to celebrate Jesus! King of Kings, Lord of Lords! Alpha & Omega! Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace, Mighty God, Everlasting Father! “All hail the power of Jesus’ name, let angels prostrate fall!”

So what is the best shopping deal of the season?  The best deal of the season? If we will turn away from our own will and surrender to His, Christ will fill us with His presence, His power, and His love.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
