The most popular way to bring in the New Year is to party — to celebrate the mere passing of time  (a New Year is coming, the old one is passing away)  yahoo!  However, many people will admit that New Year’s Eve parties often leave them feeling empty (or hung over).

Perhaps it is time to try a new approach to welcoming the New Year.  Rather that just celebrating the passing of time, why not invest in the New Year by beginning it with prayer?  Instead of making meaningless resolutions, why not offer specific prayers about the coming year?  Instead of trusting in human resolve and will power (which almost always fail us), why not trust in God’s loving ability to answer our prayers?
