Is the church paralyzed? “Unable to operate normally or effectively; stuck in a condition of helpless ineffectiveness; powerless; suffering from injury or disease that causes the inability to act in obedience to the brain.” Is the Western church, in its current condition, frozen in disobedience to its living Head (Jesus Christ)?

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!

The church? What is the church? It is certainly not the building, nor is it an agent for a denomination! The church is made up of folks just like you and I, burdened with many things, struck down with diseases that defy explanation, efforts that too often go astray, but all in all, day by day, year in and year out, the church is you and I – measured by only one standard, our belief in and the cause for which we might even dare to die for, the life and death of the One who has become our Lord and yes, even our Savior, who gave His life so that we might have one – so much more exhilarating than the life that so many merely endure.

And yet… “He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today, He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way, He Lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today, you ask me how I know He lives, He lives within my heart”.
