Happy Thanksgiving 2102, everybody! (Let’s get started.)
*Thank You, Lord for creating me and giving me life. Thank You for this beautiful world you have placed me in. (Sorry we humans have messed it up so much.) Thank You for health, a sound mind, all my senses, food, clothing, work, freedom, shelter, heat and air conditioning, transportation, entertainment, and communication. Thank You so much,Lord, for my wife and our relationship, for my daughter, for my parents and in-laws (all 4 in their 80s) and for all my extended family and friends.
Thank You, Lord, for the opportunity that The Salvation Army has given me to see a long-term dream come true, the birth of a non-traditional, participatory church in Nashville. Thanks, God, for all the people who have experienced Berry Street and have been touched by Your Presence and power there. And thank You, Lord, in advance for the mighty movement of repentance and spiritual awakening that is coming to Nashville, America, and around the world. Bring it on, Lord!
(Now it’s your turn to engage in the act of thanksgiving on Thanksgiving Day. Go ahead, take some time, and tell God thanks.)
