Your mental bouquet

Every day
You pick
Your own bouquet,
Weeds
That plant
The seeds
Of misery,
Or flowers
Of kindness
And hope.

Filling your mind
With bouquets of weeds
Only succeeds
In making you miserable.

Everyday
Gather good thoughts
Into a fragrant
And beautiful bouquet
Of inner peace
And make it
The centerpiece
Of your mind.

In a balanced bouquet
All the flowers
Contribute to the beauty.
One big sunflower,
Towering over a crowd
Of little pansies,
Is an ineffective way
To make a bouquet.
May all God’s people
Be allowed to share
The beauty of their testimony
When the body of Christ
Gathers in His name.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
