Have You Ever Been To Church?

Church is more than a structured meeting.

Church is spiritual life flowing through a room

Something you and everyone present can feel.

Church is electricity in the air,

An inner tingling,

A sense of awe.

A keen awareness

Of the real presence

Of the living God,

Shared with a group

Of Christ-followers.

Church is more than

A human controlled meeting.

Church is led by the living Jesus Christ,

Present in the room,

Directing His followers,

One has a psalm,

One has a hymn,

One has a revelation,

And on and on,

Christ leads people to actively

Share from their heart.

Real and raw,

Open and honest,

Anointed and powerful –

Life-changing words come forth.

Have you been to church?

Experience church at

The Salvation Army Berry Street,

Sunday mornings at 10:45,

225 Berry Street, Nashville, 37207.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
